On behalf of our family, we are deeply saddened to inform you - our overseas family members and friends - of the passing of our beloved mother/grandmother, Anna Wai Ling Fung (75 years old). She passed away at 11:09 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Newport Harbour Care Center in Calgary, Alberta.
As many of you may already know, our mom has been in long term care for the last 12 years since the serious incident of her brain aneurysm back in February 26, 2010. Throughout the time of her recovering and rehabilitation, she gained back some of her body strength and brain functions and was able to spend quality time with her three grandchildren. From 2014-2019, she was able to dine out with us and attended many family and birthday celebrations. We are all so thankful and had such wonderful times with her.
We are grateful that God allowed the past 12 years for us to continue enjoying our mother/grandmother, honouring her - as God commands - and preparing our hearts for this day. She lived a full life and we all felt this was a complete ending. We have done our very best and we have no regrets. We trust that her passing was in God's time. She will always remain in our memories - her sweet smile, her lively spirit - and her love for all of us will always be in each of our hearts.
In 2006, our mother realized that she, along with all humanity, had sinned and fallen short of God's perfection with the cost being everlasting spiritual separation from God (spiritual death). She recognized that as a sinner, no human effort could reconcile her to God except through Jesus, who was perfect and paid the cost for all humanity's sins. With great joy, she received Jesus as her LORD and Savior, was baptized, and given everlasting spiritual life. So although she departed from us physically today, she has been reunited in Heaven with her Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ. We who believe also look forward to being reunited with her in Heaven one day.
"God will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” - Revelation 21:4 (The Bible)
