Our sincere thanks to all of you for your kinds words of sympathy on the passing away of our dearest sister Teresa.  I was blessed to deliver the eulogy.  We all take comfort she is in the safe hands of our creator, and feel blessed her influence and the help she gave us made all her siblings a better person. RIP dearest Teresa until we meet again. We all miss you.

Eulogy for Teresa

 Rev. Father, the music ministry, dear altar servers, dear family members and friends.


For the people who may not know me, I am Francis Misquita a brother of our dearest sister Teresa.

I feel so blessed and honoured to deliver this eulogy. 

Writing this eulogy was a challenge for me. I asked myself how do I summarize Teresa’s life of 89 years , a life she lived to the fullest, in a 5-7 minute eulogy. There are so many stories to remember her. 

We come here today to bid farewell to our dearest sister in Christ- Teresa Paul. A funeral service is a 
	
reminder for all of us that we are mortals and one day we will return to our Creator.

Teresa was the first child of our parents Carlito and Romaldina Misquita. Being the first born she was always cherished by the family. Teresa was born on August 18th, 1934 in Karachi and was baptized in St.Patrick’s Cathedral. We were a family of 8. Teresa being the eldest took on family responsibilities at an early age. For her younger siblings including me, she was more of a mother., than a sister. We are all so grateful for the love and care she gave us. When I used to visit her in the senior’s residence ,she would remind me how she would wash and scrub my dirty feet every evening after I played all day in the church compound. I would say thank you thank you and jokingly tell her here is 10 dollars, and we would both would have a big laugh.

Teresa married Bernard Paul in 1958, their children are Maryanne, Mildred, Matilda, Thomas , Muriel and Myra. She was blessed with many grand children and great grand grandchildren. My sincere condolences to all of you for the loss of a mother, a mother in law, a grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a godmother to many, including my wife Theresa.

My deepest sympathy to Mildred/Gerry and all the Misquita and Paul families for the loss of your dear Mum, Grandma, and Sister/Sis-in-law. 
Teresa was a gentle soul. I have fond memories of her when she was part of the Evergreens (EGA  Seniors group). My late Mum enjoyed their get-togethers and camaraderie, and always said Teresa was a kind person. May she enjoy eternal peace. 🙏

My Dearest Maryann, Mildred, Matty, Tommy, Muriel and Myra , The loss of your beloved mother, my dear sister, is a profound and painful experience that words can hardly express. Your mom was an extraordinary woman, and her love for each of you was evident in every smile, every hug, and every sacrifice she made. Her presence brought joy and warmth to our lives, and her memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all her siblings.  Your mother's love will continue to guide and inspire you, even though she is no longer with us in the physical sense. As a family, we will support each other through this challenging time, sharing the burden of grief and celebrating the legacy of love your mother leaves behind. Lean on one another, cherish the memories, and find solace in the fact that her love will forever be a part of each of you. Thank you to Tommy for always connecting me with mum whenever you could these memories I will cherish for as long as I live.  My dear Sister Teresa always said one decade of the Rosary for each family and said Thank-you whenever I spoke to her .Will miss you sister keep on saying the decade of the Rosary for the family. Rest in peace my Teresa until we meet again.

Our dear Cousins, Losing someone as special as a mother is an unimaginable and profound loss, and I feel your pain. Aunty Teresa was an extraordinary woman, and her warmth, kindness, and love left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her be it a her family, friends and specially her students. 
It is important to remember the beautiful memories you shared with her. Cherish the times of joy, laughter, and the love that she so generously gave. While her physical presence may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Please know that you are not alone in your grief. Our family is here to offer whatever support and comfort you may need. May you find strength in each other and in the love that surrounds you, and may our dear Aunty Teresa beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. My mum always wanted to come to see her but for some reasons could not thanks to you Tommy for getting her connected when ever you could and let mum and aunty Teresa talk to each other, these memories will always remain with my mum. Big hug to all of you.
