Dad was born in his beloved town of Bezered, Hungary and started his journey to Canada in 1949 landing in Calgary 1952. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by many.
He cherished his Hungarian heritage and was an active member for both the Hungarian Cultural Association of Calgary and the Hungarian Veterans Association for many years.
His true passion and dedication however, was to his faith. He was the Sacristan for over 40 years at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church where he served seven priests, which he was very proud of and shared often to many. In 2019, he passed the reins to his son in-law.
Dad was an avid reader and read every night in his favourite chair. He loved his Louis L'Amour westerns books and read anything he could get his hands on. Dad also loved poetry and was incredible with coming up with limericks in the moment which would either be very funny or very thought provoking with tremendous insight.
Steve is predeceased by his loving wife Edith Vida and his daughter Betty (Vida) Rothwell.
