Aunt Sherry had a confidence I really admired. She didn’t hesitate to get to know me, take me under her wing, along her many places she cleaned. I had the privilege of getting to know her through working together with her and her friend. She had excellent standards and didn’t settle for a half ass job. She taught me at a young age how far to reach. And when a clipper came through she didn’t even tremble in a storm driving it was just second nature to the adventure she was on. I really enjoyed the sparkle in her eye and her easy candour. She raised brilliant and beautiful men. I regret not knowing her better later in life. Im so sorry for your loss. I am thankful and lucky to have been able to have known her and had her in my life path.

Sherry gave me the courage to meet my father, gave me the courage to test the waters of love again, and brought me beautiful family members into my life that I never knew I had.

A reason, a season, a lifetime is why we met, but family is forever.
I will meet you on the other side of the hill and we will run in a field and go fishing.

Our favorite memory of Sherry was when her boys were born.
She just had a look of such love and 'a job well done' on her face!
We send our heartfelt love to James and Darren and families.
We hope to spend time with them talking about the 'good old days'.

I remember the year that Graham and I were taking care of a huge old 3 storey house in Victoria for one of Graham’s friends who was working in Vanuatu. Don and Sherry and the boys drove from Calgary to Victoria in one day (!!!) to share Christmas with us. The house was decorated with huge African masks and other souvenirs from the owners’ world travels, and Darren, who was just a little guy, was kind of scared of that stuff. (I didn’t like it much myself.) Anyway, Sherry and I created a turkey dinner and invited Graham’s parents who lived in Sydney to join us. During the meal, I remember thinking how well behaved the two little boys were, but it was my mother-in-law who turned to Sherry and said, ‘You must be very proud of your sons.’ And to this day, I have a mental photograph of the look on Sherry’s face at that moment. Huge smile. Absolutely radiant. Beaming. My best memory of that Christmas. 

I have a vivid image in my mind of Karla, Sherry and I sitting together wearing matching  hot pink sweaters toasting life with our glasses of wine, all of us with big rosy grins. Sherry was easy to talk to. She was sure proud of her boys and their families. Her love for you all was obvious at Darren's wedding, the last time I saw her. Though gone, our mothers never leave us. She will be there for you always.
