Ruth Irene Schelske

April 16, 1925 – January 17, 2016

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved and precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her son Larkin and her daughter Linda; her grandchildren Lance (Kelly), Natasha, Dani and Dawn; and her great-grandchildren Kristen, Landon, Abby, Dakota and Evan. We would also like to acknowledge our dear friend Carol. Ruth was pre-deceased by her husband Josh in 1994 and daughter-in-law Ursula in 2008.

Mom was always devoted to her family. Though she possessed many gifts and talents, we will always remember the delicious meals she cooked, as well as her ability to play the piano so beautifully.

We wish to thank Dr. Richard Bolduc for being a “pal” for so many years. We are very grateful for the wonderful, caring staff at Agapé Hospice, the exceptional Dr. Rajeev Sharma and Major Faye Shail for her prayers and beautiful singing voice. Sincere thanks and gratitude to Ann-Louise Menks at Foster’s Garden Chapel for your professionalism, patience and kindness for this last part of Mom’s journey.

At Ruth's request no service will be held and please, no flowers. Like her late husband Josh, Ruth believed that accolades are for the living. Ruth has chosen to be cremated and her remains will be scattered in one of her favourite spots.
