Russell Marshall Mason

Russell Marshall Mason, born in Killarney, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2011 at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary. With heavy hearts, he will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Edna Mason, his daughter Kimberly Anne Martin and her husband Bill, and his son Cary William Mason. Also left to mourn are his 2 granddaughters, Shannon and Michelle, his brother Ivan David Mason and his sister Christina Mary Sannes as well as several nieces and nephews in Red Deer, Nova Scotia and New Zealand. He was predeceased by his mother Joyce Mary Clark and his father David Edward Mason.

Russ worked in the oil industry for 47 years making many friends along the way. His faithful friend, a chow named Sheba, was his pride and joy in his latter years.

With his passing, we lose the unspoken wisdom of his patience and thoughtfulness, qualities for which he will be affectionately remembered.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Southwood Hospice for their caring and kindness. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Tom Baker Cancer Society (1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2).
