August 7, 1939 - April 2, 2013
Roy Ernest Kaminski passed away peacefully at South Health Campus in Calgary, AB on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the age of 73 years. Roy was born in Young, SK August 7, 1939. Roy is lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon (Schneidmiller) of 40 years. They resided in Calgary, AB where they raised their family. He is survived by two children Shawn (Susie) Kaminski, and Jaime (Jeff) Fleming, grandchildren Blake & Alyssa Fleming and Tristan Kaminski. Roy retired from Burnco Rock Products at the age of 65. He loved sports in general; umpiring baseball and refereeing hockey for many years, in addition to being a loyal Calgary Flames and Saskatchewan Roughriders fan. Roy was a strong man, both in body and spirit, and an active man, always wanting to be on the go. He was known in his neighbourhood for the most manicured lawn. Anytime anyone needed a hand, Roy was always the first one there. Up until he passed away he enjoyed exercising at the Talisman Centre. Roy always enjoyed going for a beer. His grandchildren loved when Papa took them to the park.
