Ronald Lloyd Reid

October 24, 1937 – March 13, 2015

Ron, beloved partner, father, grandfather and “Grumpa”, passed away peacefully with family at his side after a lengthy illness. Left to cherish his memory are his children; son David (Melodie) and their children Calum and Abbey Reid, daughter Rhonda (Mike Lyons) and their children, Matt, Cassidy and Kaylie; his loving partner Anne Bording and her family, daughter Erin (Colin Radloff) and their sons Carter and Cooper. Ron also left behind, his brother Eric Reid in North Vancouver, B.C.; sister Marion Grabish of Windsor, ON and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sisters Beverly and Shirley; brother Jimmy and stepson-in-law Kelly Grosky. Ron will be remembered for his love of “free stuff”, his hatred of leftovers, his fondness for a good joke and teasing, how he never went on a road trip without a bag of chocolate bars and cooler of pop and how he always remembered your name and your story, no matter who you were. Our family will be forever thankful for the lasting memories made on recent family vacations. In Mexico, we shared tons of fun and laughs, especially when “Ravishing Ron” was around the pool. In lieu of flowers, if you wish donations may be sent to Dr. Nizar Bahlis, U of C Hematology Research, Health Sciences Centre, 3330 Hospital Drive N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N1. Our Family would like to thank Dr. Bahlis and the many other medical staff who cared for Ron for many years during his battle with cancer. At Ron’s request there will be no service, but please give your loved ones an extra big hug and tip a Coors Light in his honour.
