Ronald made the final transition from his earthly home to his heavenly home at the youthful age of 96 at Rockyview Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was comforted with his favorite gospel music playing and family singing along. We know this gave him much peace for his journey. Ronald was born in Madden, AB and was the youngest son of the late Alex and Mary Ehrhardt. He was a decorated veteran of World War II where he served in the Air Force and met the love of his life, Dorothy who predeceased him in 1977. He worked for TransCanada Airlines, which later became Air Canada, until his retirement. Ronald’s favorite pleasures in life were his family, his church and all of the many sports he participated in, including: baseball, curling, bowling, golf and hockey. Dad is survived by his sister Rachael of Vancouver; sons Ron (Paddy) and Russ (Donna); daughters Beverley Fujino and Janice (Richard) McClure; granddaughters Christene (Steven) Hoo, Kimberly (Jason) Veno and Laura McClure (Mike); grandsons Jonathan, Cody, Travis (Stephanie) and Dallas (Erin); great-granddaughters Madison Hoo and Kinsley Veno; great-grandsons Collin Hoo and Carter Hoo. We will miss dad’s marvelous sense of humor, bright blue eyes and big heart. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
