Dearly loved husband, father and Papa passed from this earth March 8, 2014. Rick is survived by his wife Vel; sons Michael and Paul (Susan); cherished granddaughters Avery, Sophie and Lily and a brother Jim (Grace) and niece Krista (Chris) and great niece Addison.
Born in Moose Jaw, SK, Rick moved to Calgary at the age of three. He grew up in the Altadore area. Summers were spent with his grandparents at Kootenay Lake in Nelson, B.C. Rick attended S.A.I.T. then entered the oil patch to work in information technology where he remained as a consultant until his death.
The centre of Rick’s life was his family and he enjoyed many happy vacations with them in California. One of his favorite things was playing hide and seek with his granddaughters. He is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his entire family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Douglasdale Golf Course Clubhouse, 7 Douglas Woods Drive SE, Calgary on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
