He spent most of his youth getting in mischief with Wayne and Rory. Randy moved out west to Calgary in 1979 looking to work in the Power Industry. He quickly found a position with Ace Construction and was on his way to becoming a Journeyman Lineman and Journeyman Power Systems Electrician. Randy achieved his Construction Administration Certificate from the University of Calgary in 2003. He enjoyed taking a project from bidding to paper to realty. Randy loved the view from the top of a pole! He enjoyed a long career at ACE Construction, starting as an apprentice and finishing after 33 years as a Vice President. Not quite ready to retire, Randy worked as a consultant for McGregor’s Construction and Design 2000 LTD. He truly enjoyed the team at McGregor’s and mentoring new Power Professionals. Giving back to the industry, Randy sat as Chair on the Provincial Apprenticeship Board.
Always first to Randy was time with his family. He loved spending time with Judee, Wendie, Norman and watching grandson Seth grow. He always maintained a close relationship with his family in Ontario. Randy was an avid sports fan and excellent athlete. He was known as a soccer and baseball player in his youth and later a spectator of all sports. Taken far too soon, Randy will be missed everyday by his family and those who knew him.
