It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Davidson. Paul Scott Davidson was born June 20th, 1959, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener Ontario. He is survived by his life partner, best friend and travel companion Shirley Faber. Paul was a role model and loved by Shirley’s children Jolena Taylor, Christie Faber and Dustin Faber. Paul’s grandson, Jackson Taylor was the light of Paul’s life. He made Paul laugh and was so loved by his grandpa. The bond they shared was unmeasurable.
Paul is also survived by son Cory Davidson, brother Frank his wife Rosemary Davidson their children Todd and Andrew, sister-in-law Veronique Davidson and her children Thomas and Heather.
Paul was predeceased by his parents Frank and Theresa and brothers Peter and John Davidson.
Paul opened Davidson’s Furniture Restoration’s in 1999. A business he was most passionate about and put his heart and soul in to. He was well known in the restoration community and took great pride in his work. Paul closed his business and retired in 2019. In his retirement he enjoyed his time with Shirley and his family traveling, fishing, and camping.
Paul was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports on TV or live. Traveling to be able to see his favorite baseball team, The Flames were his favorite hockey team, and he was a Calgary Stampeders season ticket holder. His favorite player has and will always be his grandson. Paul always loved to be rink side watching Jackson. He was also a fierce competitor when it came to living room mini stick hockey games.
Paul’s family would like to express our deepest thanks and admiration to Dr. Morris and his team at the Tom Baker Cancer Center. The numerous Doctors at Foothills Hospital that supported him in his final days and the Southwood Care Hospice Center for offering unlimited love and compassion as we prepared to say good-bye to beloved Paul.
Please join us as we celebrate Paul and his life at the South Calgary Funeral Center, February 12th at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.
