I knew Paul for only one year when we were kids, but the kind words said about him in these messages ring true with the memory I have of him. Our love of hockey brought us together on a bantam team in Calgary. He was quiet, friendly, and a very good player who enjoyed the games and practices and teammates that were a huge part of our lives that season. I have had hundreds of teammates through the years, but I do remember Paul with great affection and I am glad to have skated with him. 

I will always fondly remember the times I referred to as “beers to coffee”. It was late at night when Tracy would fall asleep, and Paul and I would stay up talking for hours.  This happened a lot when he would visit from Ontario. We would stay up til the wee hours of the morning (some times when the sun came up and coffee was substituted), and talk about everything from politics, the economy, his stories of travel with his family overseas, sports, his sisters, his parents, his nieces and nephews and their kids, and much more. The topics ranged, but one thing was for certain, he we would always talk about Tracy and Matt. 

Paul would always talk about experiences where he saw Matt and Tracy with their friends and family, how highly they regarded his kids, how they made them feel, and how proud he was of the amazing, genuinely caring people they turned out to be. He would always have that smile, and you could see the pride in his eyes. He would be the first to admit that he wasn’t a perfect man, but the one perfect thing he helped create was his kids, and that was all that mattered to him.

Tracy, Matty and Family, 

You are all in our thoughts during this difficult time.  Find strength in each other and remember all the great times you had with your dad together. Sorry we couldn't fly out to be there with you.

It was with great sadness that we learned of Uncle Paul's passing. Our heartfelt condolences go to his children, (Tracy, Jon, Matthew and Caroline) during this difficult time. Aunty Pam, Uncle Wayne, mom and dad - you have lost a brother, but know that he is forever shining upon you.

We are so honored to have known Uncle Paul  for being a genuine man. 

I (Tom) remember a Christmas as a young boy, Uncle Paul gifted a hockey table to me and my brother which the 3 of us played with all night.

We haven't been in touch for so many years but when we saw your Dad's obituary in the London paper we wanted to reach out. You have our deepest sympathies. 
We first met your Dad and your family at Oakridge arena and the old minor hockey days. Your Dad was so welcoming and friendly with a big smile for all. We were always so happy to have conversations with him. 
We are so sorry for your loss and we know that your wonderful memories of him will help you through this difficult time.

Tracy , we were all saddened to hear of your Dad's sudden passing . We had the pleasure of meeting him at your wedding in Halifax and enjoyed a few good conversations with him  at that time . I remember his smile especially .

Some of my fondest memories of Uncle Paul were family visits to Ontario as a child. I looked so forward to visiting him and my cousins in London in the summertime. When I was 16 he also took us on an adventure to Detroit and Niagra Falls - many good times were had! I am so glad he was able to attend my wedding and meet my daughter Georgia, she loved to see her Great Uncle Paul and we will think of you this summer when she rides the pink smart trike you got her. I will miss his genuine smile, kind blue eyes and generous nature. I am glad he is at peace in heaven with Grammy Jean and Grandpa Lloyd. 

Uncle Paul was an extremely generous and caring individual. He is remembered for his genuine character. His legacy lives on in his children. Sending hugs to the entire clan in Calgary.

A fond memory I share with my family is a recent one of my Uncle Paul.  When we would all meet up for family dinners at Grammy Pammy’s house, our two little children, Hunter (age 4) and Bella (age 2) would quickly be running around and engaged in play.  What I will always remember is the look of joy and happiness on Paul’s face as he would sit in silence in his chair and just watch the kids play for long periods of time.  He had a look of contentment and would enjoy his family members being around him.  We all love you Uncle Paul ! And I know you are up in heaven laughing and having fun with your mom and dad ! 

My most endearing memory of my younger brother is that of the young student  who worked seven days a week to put himself through university.  I had just moved into my  very own apartment-- a rented bachelor unit.  After he finished his shift  at KFC  that night Paul drove from London to Toronto (in his car which was barely roadworthy) to bring me a house warming gift--something he thought "might come in handy".  He was only able to stay a half an hour because it was very late and  he had an early morning class.  

I will leave the broom, dustpan and pail for you at the front door Paul  just in case "it might come on  handy".    You will be in my heart always. Heather
