Nancy Anne Doumani was a beautiful soul that was loved deeply by her family. A devoted wife of 53 years to William Doumani (deceased November 6, 2004), a loving and caring Mother to 7 children (Brian – Thunder Bay, ON, Robert – Surrey, BC, James – Vancouver, BC, John – Coquitlam, BC, David – Winnipeg, MB, Thomas (Deceased), and Nancy – Calgary, AB) A Grandmother to 9 children and a Great-Grandmother to 2 children. Nancy’s greatest gift was her family whom she gave all of herself to and loved unconditionally.
She was born in Windsor, Ontario but lived the majority of her life in Thunder Bay, Ontario. In 2005, after the passing of her husband, Nancy moved to Calgary to live with her daughter. For the last 2 years of her life, while living with Alzheimers, Nancy stayed at Father Lacombe Care Centre in Calgary, AB.
As a young girl, Nancy loved to tap dance and sing, which was aired on radio broad casts. She married at 19 years of age and started a family right away. While the kids were young, she and her husband owned their own business, a confectionary store called Nancy D’s. When all her children were grown, she worked at Larson and Zatziff Law Offices in Thunder Bay which made her very happy to have joined the work force. For over 20 years Nancy was also an assistant to her husband’s magic act. She loved to travel, visiting places all over Canada, the country she felt was the best in the world. Her true escape though, was their 100 acre tree farm in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario. She and her husband Bill spent so much time there enjoying and appreciating the simple things in life.
Nancy had such a positive attitude about life and one of the best words of advice my Mom ever gave me were, “Do It While You Can”. She will be missed by all she touched. We love you Mom.
