The family of Monica Wowchuk are deeply saddened by her passing on Palm Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Calgary. She is joining our loving father, Jerry who passed away on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. Our mother was a hardworking, friendly person who had a smile for everyone she met. We will deeply miss her and are truly thankful for being able to spend many years with her. Monica was born in Hettenleidelheim, Germany on December 12, 1926. She married Jerry in 1945. They came to Canada in 1949 and lived in Consort, Alberta until 1961. Jerry started his own shoe business in Leduc in 1968 and they lived there until Jerry passed away in 2018. For the past year Monica lived in Calgary.
Monica is survived by her son, Bill (Amida) and daughter, Helen (Bill); three grandchildren, Robert (Judy), Angela (Brian) and Daniel (Lynn) as well as five great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Monica is also survived by her sister Agathe in Germany.
