Mitchell was born on October 23, 1987, to Marjorie Jean Lucian in Calgary, Alberta. Mitchell was outgoing, friendly, an avid reader, athletic, and gentle-hearted. He was always willing to help those in need, often going as far as giving the shirt off his back. He truly didn't have a selfish bone in his body and everyone adored him.
Mitchell was a loving son, cherished younger brother and treasured friend. He poured all his energy into every life he touched, all the while shouldering his own burdens. We cherish the summer memories of time spent at Moose Lake and the family farm. Mitchell was the heart of our family trips across the country, through the mountains, and into the northern United States. Our car trips echoed with his laughter, his witty remarks and his awe of the world.
His family fondly remembers him as the comedic relief. Whether it was his freestyles, his funny voices or his unique "Mitch brand" catchphrases, he always brought joy. Mitchell always had a smile on his face, which in turn made us all smile. He had an eclectic taste in music, spanning genres from rap to blues, reggae, classical, and especially country with a particular fondness for Dolly Parton.
Mitchell's creativity was boundless. He expressed himself through freestyle rapping, break dancing, improv comedy, and gardening. His passion for visual design extended beyond sketches; from crafting street tags for friends to creating abstract pen and ink art, and designing vibrant rock gardens for his mother, of which she is immensely proud. Professionally, Mitchell was a 3rd-year scaffolder and took great pleasure in working with his hands, especially with wood.
Always taking care of his appearance, although he was self-conscious of his ears, but his grampa Lucian the jokester that he was gave him the nickname “Scoops”. Mitchell not only kept fit for himself but also encouraged others to join him at the gym. He was the first to introduce his nephew, Daniel, to the world of fitness. His impeccable sense of style was evident in his choice of sunglasses, hats, and designer jeans. Mitchell's commitment to self-care is a lesson for us all.
Deeply spiritual, Mitchell's faith in our Lord Jesus was unwavering. "See you soon, but not too soon," he would toast in memory of those who had passed before him. Above all, Mitchell's love for his mother was profound, always being her pillar of strength & the only woman he truly loved.
Mitchell will forever be in the hearts of his beloved mother, Marjorie; his siblings Elijah, Stephanie (Mike), Virginia (Glen), and Steven; his aunts and uncles Ramona, Colleen, Derek, Danny, Mikey, Adrienne, and Eileen; as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless friends. Mitchell was preceded in death by his great grandparents Cinderella & William Campbell, Rose & Harry Lucian, grandparents Michael & Marian Lucian, and Aunt Donna.
Rest in peace, son, brother, friend, nephew, uncle, cousin.
