Maureen was born on August 23, 1975, in Rockglen, Saskatchewan. Maureen enjoyed her elementary schooling in Rockglen. She was an inquisitive and curious child with a perpetual quest for knowledge. Her high school journey included many external activities: figure skating & dancing. She continued the journey for knowledge to the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Maureen furthered her education at the University of Calgary by obtaining a Bachelor of Psychology Degree followed up by a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Maureen’s life was made fuller when she found and married Jason. Together they built a life and a loving home to bring into this world two beautiful children: Olivia and Hawthorne. Olivia and Hawthorne were loved and are loved unconditionally.
Maureen is lovingly remembered by her husband Jason Hall. Her adoring children Olivia and Hawthorne. Her parents: Darlene and Stan Gording and her brother Eric Gording.
Maureen will be sadly missed by her in-laws: Donna Hall, Dwight (Marcia) Hall, Winston (Shirley) Hall and Jacqueline (Glenn) Hemmelgarn and her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her grandparents: Elmer & Louise Gording, Lorne & Edith Jones and Gordon Hall.
Maureen will leave behind many friends who influenced and impacted her life and whose lives she had a profound effect on. Gemma, who loved and nurtured Olivia and Hawthorne with care matching Maureen’s high expectations. Jennifer, who provides an environment that allows Olivia and Hawthorne to flourish. Naomi, who shared a professional journey and relationship which developed into a strong bond that Maureen cherished. Cheryl, who provided Maureen with support and friendship in the professional environment which allowed the work to be a joy during the good days and bearable during the tough slogging. Maureen is also survived by many close friends from her hometown.
A Celebration of Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 4 Street N.W. Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:00 am. Pastor Linda Hunter officiating.
