My deepest sympathy to the Donaldson family in the loss of your Mother, Marie.  I got to know Marie when I worked for Gordon from March 1970 to 1975.  Your Mom and Dad were kind to me.  Love and Care.  Hugs

My name is Christopher Gibson. I have some very fond memories of Marie and Gordon beginning on April 12, 1976 when they were present to see me accept the Lord Jesus Christ into my life,
From that day forward and many years afterward Marie was
like a big sister to me and showed such love and care to me and my growing family in Calgary. She had a rare giving love that one does not see often, and it was expressed over and over again. Marie had a wonderful outgoing personality that could bubble over onto everyone she came into contact with.  I will never forget her, as I know many others will not either. 
She truly loved the Lord with all her heart.

I was so lucky to have the coolest Grandma ever- I remember writing a report about her in junior high, detailing  how she was the ultimate anti-grandma with her cool cars, luxurious furs, gold tooth and exotic travels. And yet she could drive a John Deere, lay sod, and cheer for the Flames like nobody’s business too! Countless hours of fun were had on the acreage where I learned to ride a bike, had my birthday parties, put pennies on the train tracks, played on the pond and enjoyed so many huge family holiday meals. Grandma continued to be a loving and supportive figure in my life as I became an adult and started my own family, and I visited her twice with my daughters in Kelowna where she doted on us as only she could do- she was a true caregiver at heart. These and so many more treasured memories will stay in my heart always. 

I met Marie through Zoe and we had so many great memories together with her, Zoe and Jim. The many brunches, restaurants, concerts and how can we forget the trips to Las Vegas. I will remember her great enthusiasm for life, being young at heart, always smiling and your warm hugs.  Rest In  Peace Marie. I will always fondly remember you..

I have so many fond memories of my Grandma growing up.  I loved our big family gatherings, there was always a feeling of love in the house with Grandma at the helm.  

A few memories that come back to me;

1) The magic of the Spruce Dr property (the pond, feeding the ducks, trampoline, hot tub, sauna, huge firepit, walks, train track, just all the freedoms she encouraged)
2) Her love of white bread!
3) Her famous stuffing
4) Big hugs from a fur coat
5) Disneyland in the motorhome 
6) Her support of my education
7) The organ
8) Camping Grandma and upscale resort Maui Grandma, she could do both
9) I remember as a kid just wanting to hang around and listen to her and the other grown ups talk.  She was a good talker.  

And so many more.  

I think my grandma was always in search of happiness and I believe she is happy now in heaven, reunited with her loved ones and watching over the rest of us.

I first met my mother-in-law when I was eighteen and I was invited to go on a big adventure down to California to pick up four motorhomes.  Marie, Gordon, Gerry, and a family friend each drove one back to Calgary.  Nothing like a week long trip to get to know the family!  Two years later Gerry and I got married and I was formally welcomed into the family.  

Christmas was the best, a large group of us gathered together and Marie made HANDS DOWN the best turkey and stuffing ever.  She told me using lots of butter was the key!  When our children came along Marie was very supportive and I looked up to her for advice.  She was my hero after raising five boys.  Marie also gave me counsel on my many questions about Christianity.  Marie loved the Lord and she taught herself how to play the organ and she learned  several hymns.  

Marie and Gordon travelled extensively and many a party was held on the acreage when they were gone.  Marie was so kind to always call ahead to give us a warning - love her for that.  

Marie was known for her generous spirit and she was always there to lend a helping hand.

So many great memories that I will hold on to Marie - you will be deeping missed.

We were so lucky to be part of Marie's extended family.  When our son, Domenyk, married her granddaughter Alanna, she welcomed us into the "family" with open arms and always a loving smile on her beautiful face.

No one else’s Gramma I knew had the cool factor like she did. Young at heart forever💫

Her and Grandpa D traveller the world often and I could always count on a very special doll or snow globe from wherever they had been last. 

The Spruce Drive Yard was filled with endless hours of free range childhood memories - The Pond - the hugest trampoline - the sound of the trains rumbling along the Bow river below. 

Large family gatherings and meals and the faithful Camp cook - bible camps for so many summers I got to tag along🚐

Flames Hockey 🔥 And the ultimate fan of her sons &  grandkids activities. 

Fiercely loved her family. 

These are just a few of the things  that make me so proud to have been loved by her.
