Maria Lourdes Manalese

Like a candle that lit the hearts of many, our beloved Lorie shined brightly during her time with us. She was a warm, loving, and kind light — until she was peacefully called home on April 17, 2025. Despite a life-altering stroke in her last few years of life, she showed utmost courage and resilience.

Maria Lourdes Manalese was born on the 10th of February 1969 in Sto.Tomas, Pampanga, Philippines. Maria, commonly known as Lorie, has brought joy, strength, and compassion to everyone who had the gift of knowing her. She was a devoted mother, a loving wife, a supportive sister, and a loyal friend whose kindness will echo in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her precious daughter, Aileen; her loving husband, Rodel; and her siblings, Edward, Allan, Dolores and Corazon, her nephews and nieces, including everyone else who hold her memory close.

Lorie will be remembered for her ability to make everyone smile, her boundless care for others, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and especially in Aileen and Rodel, whom she cherished more than anything in this world.

A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at South Calgary Funeral Centre where we will gather to remember and honor her.

Though her flame has dimmed, the light she shared will never fade
