Margaret Ethel McLellan

Margaret Ethel McLellan passed away peacefully at the Chinook Hospice from breast cancer on September 14, 2012 at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Ron Anderson, grandchildren Joshua, Jeanette and Christopher and great granddaughter Lily. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Norman, her beloved daughter Jan Neufeld whose life was cut short at 26 years in a car accident, her sister Louise Douglas and her brother Jim Holcombe. Our deepest gratitude to the staff at Trinity Lodge and Chinook Hospice in Calgary for their excellent, professional care and compassion to Margaret.

Throughout the years, Margaret wore many hats. At church, she played piano, directed dramas, chaperoned Youth Choir and helped organize many church functions. She was a Brown Owl leader to the Girl Guides in Vancouver. She was also a great hostess, seamstress, secretary, knitter, food/appliance demonstrator, antique hunter and an opera/symphony enthusiast. Margaret and Norman adopted two girls who both were given a wonderful life. We remember the good times!
