From an early age she had a bright, rosy disposition as well as an unbridled curiosity and eagerness to learn about everything that interested her. After high school, she attended Swift Current Bible Institute which led her to further her education at the University of Saskatchewan where in 1986 completed her Bachelor’s degree with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. She worked at various jobs in Saskatoon for a number of years before moving back to Calgary in 1991 to help care for her parents. In 1993 she felt led to serve with the Mennonite Central Committee in Akron, Pennsylvania.
After completing a two year term in Akron, she moved back to Calgary and became a student again at SAIT where she obtained a diploma in Information Technology. She was soon hired by the City of Calgary where she worked until December, 2020. She was a respected member of different teams and was known by colleagues as someone who had a keen mind and willingness to help mentor others.
Calgary First Mennonite was Rose’s first faith home. Her faith journey continued in Saskatoon, Akron, and at Trinity Mennonite Church in Calgary.
Rose’s love for travel was inspired by her Aunt Sue and Aunt Annie. Her passions were music, gardening and quilting. Quilting retreats and cruises were special times that she enjoyed together with a close-knit group of fellow quilters.
Rose is survived by her brother Bob (Juanita) Krahn, her niece Erica (Martin) Goddard (grandnephew Thomas) and nephew Tim Krahn; brother Ernie Krahn; sister Julie (Gordon) Enns and their children Jennifer and Freddy Enns; and brother Dave (Dawn) Krahn and their children, Jaden and Avery Krahn.
