Lydia Jacobson was born to Frederick and Barbara Tetz on their family homestead near Mendham, SK. She passed away of advanced age under the watchful and compassionate care of the staff at Whitehorn Village Lodge.
Lydia was beloved by her children, Lorraine (Larry) Maerz and Kenneth (Lillian) Koch, as well as her stepchildren, Georgia (Dennis) Hill, Maxine (Ervin) Boettcher, Faith (Donald) Hartung, Sharon (Les) Schmidt and Charlotte Bonella along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Rudolph Koch, second husband Arthur Jacobson, grandsons Markus Koch and Sidney Hartung, and nine brothers and sisters. Lydia was a dedicated Christian and a charter member of Center Street Church. She taught Sunday School for 30 years. Lydia felt privileged to live at Whitehorn Village Lodge for the past nine years, saying, “I can’t believe that such a wonderful place exists for old people.”
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
