Lois Cook (Lou), beloved wife, mother, sister, gramma and friend passed away peacefully at the South Health Campus Hospital in Calgary on Friday, April 21st, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Lois was born in Morden, Manitoba on September 29, 1938 to Joseph Weidl and Ann Kalinsky. She was the middle of her 4 sisters, Delores, Joann and Gail. Lois is predeceased by Lloyd Cook, her husband of 49 years, her youngest sister Joann and step sister Gail. Lois and Lloyd were married on October 25, 1958. She and Lloyd raised 3 boys Gord(Cindy), Brian(Debbie) and Mike(Moe) in Bowness. Lois will be missed by her 4 grandchildren Jessica, Quinn, Ryan and Morgan. Lois spent many years working at Woodwards, and to this day has remained friends with many of her co-workers. When Lloyd and Lois retired they moved to Olds, Alberta where they were very active in their community. After Lloyd passed in December 2007, Lois moved to Airdrie, Alberta to be near her sister Delores. Lois’s last year has been spent living with Mike and Moe in Calgary. Lois has always been a generous, loving and full of energy lady. Lois enjoyed a good laugh. She was always helping out with baking, canning, redoing the walls of her home in Bowness, gardening and cooking huge meals to feed at least 20 people at a time. If something needed to be done, well Lois was your lady. She handled everything from the organizing to the cooking. Lois could manage the decorations in the middle of that too, as well as providing entertainment. Most of us have been lucky enough to see her “special apron”. Please join the family to help us celebrate Lois’s vibrant energetic life with your personal stories. A Celebration of Lois’s Life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion #264, 1910 Kensington Road N.W. Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
