Linda Sylvia Rita Vincent

March 6, 1949 – June 30, 2013

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Linda Vincent on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB at the age of 64.

Linda had a courageous fight for her life. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and cousin. Linda was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland to the late William and Gertrude (Tizzard) Dwyer. She met her husband of 42 years, Lloyd, in St. John’s, married on June 7, 1971 and they created a beautiful life together. A graduate of the Salvation Army Grace General Hospital School of Nursing in 1969, Linda helped others for over 37 years. She worked a number of years in the burn unit at the Halifax General Hospital, Izaak Walton Killam Hospital in Halifax, Children’s Hospital in St. John’s, medical records at Foothills Hospital, private practice with family physicians and most recently in occupational health. She enjoyed being outdoors in her gardens, reading, baking, traveling to exotic locations such as Europe, Cuba, British Columbia and Australia, constructing new houses with her husband and most importantly attending all of her children’s sporting activities (horseback riding, gymnastics, baseball and hockey). She was amazing and loved so many people, especially her children. Family was number one and her love of them helped to sustain her. Survived by her loving husband Lloyd; daughter Nicole (Rob); son Timothy; sister Sandra (Tom); brothers Bill (Susan), Bob (Josie), Bart (Kathy) and Bruce (Vivian); aunt Rita and sister-in-law Margie (Harry). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We will always think of her as an incredibly beautiful woman with a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 4 Street N.W., Calgary on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with interment following at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
