Les passed away on November 30, 2017 at the age of 59, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Barberton, Ohio, Les moved with his family to Calgary at a young age and called North Haven home for much of his life. After high school he attended SAIT for culinary arts and later achieved his interprovincial red seal status. He worked at many restaurants over the course of his career and met many good friends along the way including his eventual wife Bi. Of Hungarian descent Les enjoyed blending Hungarian and western cuisines. Over the past few years you could find him enjoying his summers golfing around Calgary where he impressed many partners with his long drives.
Les spent much of his life with pets and was instrumental in bringing home the first family dog Tina. Multiple cats were also part of his life growing up including Lucky and Butch. As an adult he spent a lot of his time with a best buddy a golden retriever named Tisza.
Predeceased by his parents, Brigitta and Leslie, he is survived by his wife, Bi Park; step-sons Ryan and Kyle Park; brothers Chris Vucsics (Susie) and Robert Vucsics(Carolyn; Alia, Noah); father and mother-in-law, Guo Chi and Mei Fang; brother-in-law Jian Guang Ma (Qi-Ling); sister-in-law Jamie Huang (Keith); along with many nieces and nephews.
Overall, Les led an active lifestyle and had a great love for animals and the outdoors. Golf and fishing were among his favorite hobbies. He also liked a good wine and was fond of Okanangan wineries which he visited with his beloved wife Bi.
Cheers to Les, he will be missed.
