After battling many medical conditions during his lifetime, Larry joined his parents Fred and Katie Snider, brothers Ken and Jimmy and sisters-in-law Mary and Gloria.
He will be remembered by his brothers, Harry, Rodney (Maria) and Robert; sisters Shirley (Bill) Ripley and Kathy (Stewy) Stewart; sister-in-law Diane Snider; as well as Rhonda Sinclair and Lorraine McKenzie.
Larry was born on October 4, 1940 in Calgary, where he grew up with his brothers and sisters. When Larry was 15, he got his first job, delivering telegrams on his new bicycle. Driving a truck appealed to him, and soon he was driving a cement truck.
He met and married Rena Philips. After a few years, they and their children, Ronnie and Rhonda, moved to Edmonton. There they worked with Edna, Rena’s mother, at her café. It wasn’t long before Larry was back driving a cement truck, which he enjoyed for many years.
Larry was ready for a new challenge and decided to become a salesman with the Edmonton Real Estate Board. Two years later, Larry moved his family back to Calgary, where he continued his real estate career. During the next years, he dabbled in many new ventures, but always remained in real estate.
Larry and Lori enjoyed taking several trips, they travelled to the Maritimes, Europe and cruising. Larry retired in 2016 and enjoyed his days with his dog, Cheyenne.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
