As a resourceful and adventurous young man he travelled across Canada many times. He settled in Vancouver where he welcomed his first son, Lance. After moving back to Kingston, he eventually settled in Calgary in the 80’s and started working in the oil field camps. Larry enjoyed over 25 years working up north and made many friends along the way. He retired and spent his remaining years with his son Lance and his family in Airdrie.
Larry leaves behind his two sons, Lance (Brenda) and Dale; six grandchildren, Chelsea, Amber, Melanie, Emily, Allie, and Logan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be missed for his friendly, playful, kind, and generous spirit.
"I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger
Travelling through this world below,
There's no sickness, no toil, no danger
In that bright land to which I go.
I'm going to see my mother
She said she'd meet me when I come."
A Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
