Kwong was born in Hoiping, Guangdong, China. He is survived by his children Raymond, Annie (Danny), Roman (Sally), Ronald (Jenny); grandchildren Terence, Wesley, Kenneth (Jenny), Alyssa (Jonathan), Adrienne, Brandon, Stacy (Aaron), Jacyln, Praise, Noel and blessed with two great grandchildren Boris and Eloise. He is predeceased by his wife Yin Fun Lam and son Ricky.
Kwong was a very simple, kind and peaceful man. Before retiring and immigratING to Canada in 1986, he was a refrigeration engineer in cargo and cruise ships. Other than making a living for his family, he also enjoyed travelling all around the world. Destinations can be far reached to Europe, Africa, and South America other than Asia countries. His knowledge in geography, culture, cities and products of each country was second to none. Kwong loved his music especially singers like The Beatles, Bee Gees and Connie Francis, just to name a few. He was full of energy when full blasting the music in his electronic gadgets like Telefuken and Grundig radios. During his retirement life in Canada, he and his wife Yin Fun Lam enjoyed and helped babysitting most of his grandchildren. If there was one bad habit of Kwong it was his in love of beers. He enjoyed having a beer with his children, grandchildren, friends and treasured every precious moment.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His smile and shadow will forever in our memories.
His life will be celebrated at Foster’s Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W. Calgary. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. An interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
