KK was born in China on March 11, 1930. After he completed his Business Administration study in Chu Hai College in 1952, he entered the banking business in Macau and became an established and respected banker until his retirement. He met the love of his life, Neng Sang Tong, and they were married in 1956, and together they had three sons. In Macau they built a happy home raising their children and formed strong friendships and community ties. In 1985, they immigrated to Canada and made Calgary their new home.
After arriving in Calgary, they were very active in the Calgary Chinatown community and made many new friends. KK volunteered at the Chinese Elderly Citizen’s Association Senior Club, serving at functions and participated regularly in club events. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and friends, playing mahjong, photography, fishing, keeping up with world events, and exploring Canada and travelling. He will be remembered as the most devoted husband, a loving and supportive father and a kind grandfather. He would be a perfect example of a 二十四孝父親.
KK will be dearly missed by his three children Louis (Vera), Henry (Colleen), Sammy (Samantha), and his four beloved grandchildren, Christopher (Mary), Tiffany (Marshall), Jacqueline (Ben), Ethan, and as well as many other relatives and friends around the world.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from the Queen’s Park Cemetery) to honor KK’s life on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 10:00 am.
Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
