Ken passed away peacefully in Calgary on July 28, 2021 at the age of 93 years.
While most of his working life as a surveyor was in Calgary where he surveyed many new subdivisions, his career took him to several provinces and territories including the Arctic and Quebec. After retiring he enjoyed volunteering for the West Hillhurst Go-Getters and patronizing the Beltline coffee spots.
As an avid patron of the Calgary Public Library, Ken was never without a book to read and seemed to have one permanently attached to his hand. He loved music and accumulated a large and diverse collection of recordings over the years. Ken was very proud of his daughters and was delighted that they shared many of his interests. There was a special place in Ken’s heart for the family cats and dogs.
Ken is survived by June, his wife of 64 years, as well as three daughters Robin, Gillian (Robert Steedman), and Stephanie, and three grandchildren Alec, Audrey (Mike), and Graham.
At Ken’s request there will be no service. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at both Seton AgeCare and Chinook Intercare.
