I have just found this site for Kathy's death and am sorry I missed it earlier this year.  I only knew her from a couple of e-mails but was delighted to have those from my second cousin once removed.  Please pass on my sorrow at her passing.

I just heard of your passing this afternoon, and I am so saddened by this news. I have so many fond memories of crazy times in Arizona and other such trips. You had such an aura about you that was hard to explain.. you drew people to you. And everyone who was around you had fun and felt good. I am reminded of the importance of friends... and how miles should not make you lose contact. I will always remember you with laughter and fun... you are one of a kind. I will miss you.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Kathy's passing.  She had a wonderful personality and I always enjoyed our times together.  I did not know her as well as many others but she had a great sense of humor . There are certain people who come into your life and leave a mark, Their place in your heart is tender, a bruise of longing, a pulse of unfinished business. Just hearing their names pushes and pulls you in a hundred ways, And when you try to define those hundred different ways, to describe them even to yourself, words are useless.  Kathy touched my heart by her kindness and love.  She showed me a world where it was ok to be myself and celebrate that person.  She taught me that pain was a very real part of life and it truly did make you stronger.  She made me laugh in my very darkest hours when I felt that there was no reason left to even take a single breath.   She helped me raise my children when I was alone with the dedication and love of one would expect only of a mother and let them get away with naughty stuff, only sometimes.  Our memories of Kathy are each different and unique – and so very special.  We can only hope to emulate her in our daily lives as we great each other always kindly, love each other unconditionally, forgiven one another with our whole heart and celebrate each day as if it were our last.  That is what she would ask of us, that is all she ever asked.  She soars among the Angels now, watching over each of us as we move forward in our lives.  She would ask us not to morn too long as she would feel that would be a waste of good skydiving time.  She would want us to remember her laughing as we cooked together, played Yatzee or simply sat contemplating that journey we call life.  She would want us to reflect upon the joy that we each shared in our own special ways with her and share a story or two with each other.  Kathy was a gift to this world that was meant to shine only for a short while, anything so brilliant can only shine for so long.  I know that she knew that she was loved deeply and that all she had to do was ask and we would be there in a single beat of a heart.  Though now are hearts ache for our loss, Kathy will always be with us and watching us, loving us from the stars and gently whispering to us when we need her, we just have to be quiet and listen. I cannot begin to express my sadness. Kathryn was and is such a tremendous part of my life, and who I grew up to be. Spending the time I did with her has been such a gift. I wish I could express in words what I am feeling. It is almost as if the world is a little bit less bright, but that wouldn't be right. It's because of her that the world is such a beautiful place. The way Kathy touched so many people, the way her smile and laugh could make the saddest day OK again, the way you felt when she gave you a hug- her love was so special. It's so hard to know that Kathy is gone, but her life was such a gift. The memories that we all have, the smiles, the hugs, the laughs- these will live in all of us forever. I am so sorry for the loss that we all feel, but all of us have those special moments that will stay with us forever. Her life truly was a gift for this world, and it is one I will cherish forever. Kathy, I love and miss you terribly, but I will never forget the joy you brought my life. Thank you for everything!

My heart goes out to Kathryn's family in this time of incredible loss and sadness.

We have both been in Kathys company a few times over the years.  Kathy had been at son "Jean-Guys" funeral service (another skydiver) in September of 2000 in Calgary. And, it was through son Doug, that Kathy was introduced to Grace in Eloy, Az. and over the years have kept in touch.
