Katharina Frick

January 29, 1919 – May 22, 2013

Katharina Frick passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Katie was born in Gadacs, Hungary, immigrated with her husband and family to Canada in 1953 and made Calgary their home in 1955. Katie is survived by her daughter Eva (Emil) Kuhn; grandchildren Rick (Carolyn) Kuhn, Ken (Astrid) Kuhn, Janine (Chris) Dilger, Angela (Scott) Koop, Rodney Frick, Daniel (Rebecca) Frick; and by her great grandchildren Kirsten, Rachel, Sarah, Stefin, Caleb, David, Thomas, Levi, Hannah, Elyse, Leah, Joshua, Brennan and Seth. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Ruth Frick. Katie is predeceased by her husband Elias and her son Henry. Oma will be remembered for her hospitality, love of cooking, baking, and gardening but especially for her love of family. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to St. Matthew Lutheran Church (66, 7 Street NE, Calgary AB, T2E 4B7).
