Kam-Fai Fung, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at Wing Kei Nursing Home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, December 21, 2015, at the age of 92 years. Kam was born in China and lived in Hong Kong for a long time. He retired and immigrated to Calgary, Alberta in 1981 with his family. Kam was an owner of a flower shop in Hong Kong for 30 years and he was skilled as both a florist as well as a professional calligrapher. His beautiful Chinese calligraphy appeared on the ribbons of all flower arrangements of his clients. Kam used to take short walks wearing his signature cap in Calgary, enjoyed watching many sports, especially hockey and wrestling. We remember him sitting on his favourite chair eating peanuts while watching hockey on TV. He was handy and loved to fix things at home and built furniture, and loved gardening, especially growing vegetable in his backyard. The Fung family always had more than sufficient produce grown by him. Kam is lovingly remembered by his seven children Liza, Bill, Kitty, Sam, Francis, May, Randy and their spouses; thirteen grandchildren Patrick, Connie, Philip, Robert, Jasmine, Jessica, Sandy, Felicia, Kelvin, Darren, Samantha, Amanda and Monica; and three great-granddaughters Kailey, Isabella and Jady. Kam was predeceased by his wife Chau Fong Leung, who passed away in 2010. Kam will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A Visitation will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
