April 9, 1944 – February 28, 2018
Our beloved mother, Joyce Catherine Niefer, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary, AB, after a courageous struggle with liver disease, which she handled with grace. She was energetic, hardworking, dedicated to her family and enjoyed sharing her sense of humour. She took pleasure in camping, fishing, baking, hosting family gatherings and was an amazing chocolatier. Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed and forever loved. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Arnold; children Wendy (Brian) Kuny, Kevin (Kim) Niefer and Kelly (Stephen) Michaud; as well as adored grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel, Rebecca, Brianna and Maddison. Joyce is also survived by her three siblings, Lorne (Pat) Neal, Lois (Casper) Haas and Verne (Joanne) Neal, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews
Friends are invited to visit with the family at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4th Street NW, Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Saturday, March 10, 2018 between 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Dulcina Hospice at St. Marguerite Manor, 110 Evanspark Manor NW, Calgary, AB T3P 0N4.
