Joyce Isabel Benner

Joyce Isabel Benner passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Left to mourn Joyce’s passing are her husband of 68 years Victor; son Gordon; grandsons Jayson and Nicholas; step-grandchildren Paola, Juan and Laura; daughter-in-law Vikki; brother Donald Bancroft; as well as many special nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Bruce Benner, sisters Jean Fleming and Mary Hook, and brothers Hugh Bancroft and Allan Bancroft. Joyce was born in Vulcan, AB on July 16, 1923 and moved to Sunnyside in Calgary, AB with her family at age six. Upon graduating from Crescent Heights High School, she was employed by Eaton’s for the next seven years where she met her husband Victor in 1948 and they married in Banff. Joyce stayed at home with her sons until 1970, at which time she re-entered the workforce with Sears, retiring in 1983. Joyce also spent many enjoyable years volunteering at the Confederation Senior Citizens Centre. A private service was held.
