Joan Rainbird Laing

Joan Laing passed away in Calgary, AB on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the age of 81 years. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda (Gerry)Kemp, Gaylene (Paul) Barry, stepdaughters, Terry (Bill) Negenman, Tracy (Gary) Mauch, Sherry Henrickson, Robyn (Rick) Andrews, Wendy (John) Westlake, Kellie (Jim) Krueger, grandchildren, Scott (Rachel) Wenger, Paul (Amy) Wenger, Jill (Kelsey) Plett, Jett Barry, great grandchildren, Samuel Wenger, Isaiah Wenger, sister, Phyllis Lanphear. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Bernard Laing; her sisters Doris Ingram and Ivy Waruk; her brother Harold Rainbird and her canine best friend Bear. Joan was born in Moose Jaw on September 21, 1931 and moved to Calgary in 1957. She worked for many years at Smithbilt Hats. She celebrated our triumphs and prayed us through our tribulations. We have been blessed to have had her in our lives and we will miss her so very much. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Mustard Seed Street Ministry, 102 – 11 Avenue S.E, Calgary AB T2G 0X5 or to the Salvation Army, #822, 420 – 9 Avenue S.E., Calgary AB T2G 0R9.
