Joan Dora Kelly passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the age of 97 years. Joan is lovingly remembered by her sons Brian (Paula) Kelly, Allan (Wendy) Kelly, granddaughter Debora (Jason) Kelly-Levy, and great grandson Odin Kelly-Levy. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Higgins and sister-in-law Jean Broom. Joan was predeceased by her husband Clarence Joseph Kelly, brother Francis Broom, sister-in-law Stella Broom, brother Ralph Broom, sister Doris Cooper, and brothers-in-law Walter Cooper and Frank Higgins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Joan’s Church friends, especially Bob, Marg, and Eve, who were always there for Mama and held a special place in her heart. Thank you also to the Red Hatters and the Pineridge Group. You all brought her great joy. A Funeral Service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, 2523 - 56 St NE, Calgary, Alberta, on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
