Unexpectedly, on Thursday, January 14, 2021, Art McFaddin left this world to go home. Born July 9, 1931 in Newdale, Manitoba, he grew up on the family farm near Cardale. Art married Pat Lenton in 1952. They moved with their daughter, Diane, to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where they raised their three children. His working years were spent at Kellogg’s Dairy and the Lakehead School Board as a Stationary Engineer.
In 1990, Pat passed away. The following year, Art and Dolly found each other, spending 30 rich years together. At retirement, they moved to Savoy Lake. Eventually, they moved to Oakbank, Manitoba to be close to family. During those years, they formed many deep friendships. In 2019, their final move brought them to Calgary, again to be close to family.
Art is survived by his loving wife, Dolly; children Diane (Denis) Sharun, Audrey (Jeff) Holm, Jim (Lorraine) McFaddin and Joanne (Alan) Schappert; grandchildren Derek, Sara (Tim), Jen (Jon), Jo (Chris), James (Maria), Josh (Sara), Jake (Rachel), Chance and Cruise (Karli); great-grandchildren Page, Talia, Carter, Avaiya, Weston, Neriah, Nora, Quinn, Truman, Franklin and Stuart; and sisters May, Joan, Marie, Doris, Joyce and Pat. He was predeceased by his wife Pat and siblings Glen, Ken and Merle.
Art loved all his family deeply. His joy for the great outdoors has been passed on through 3 generations. Dad, Papa, Papa G, we will meet you at the fishing hole.
