With much support from his wife, Pam (Houston), Jack obtained his BSc in Geological Engineering and MSc in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan, and remained a strong advocate for continuing education throughout his life. He enjoyed success in business, and “retired” to manage his own resource and investment companies in 1997.
Jack will be remembered for his sense of humour, and his love of family, music, and physical fitness. He played the piano and attended the YMCA regularly until his advancing dementia hindered such pursuits.
He will be remembered with love by his three children Jacki (Wayne), Reg (Stacy) and Rod (Heidi); his eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his wife in September 2018 and his brother, Monty, in November 2018.
A Memorial Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday. November 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
