Irene Lienau

Irene “Wren” Lienau passed away unexpectedly in Calgary on September 17, 2014, at the age of 62. She is survived, and lovingly remembered by her sons Mark and Patrick (Kathleen), brothers Mike, Roy, Erving and Norman, and many beloved friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Usher Linge and Elsa Lienau, as well as her brother Harold.

Irene was born in Spruce Grove, Alberta on September 3, 1952, to two loving parents, the only daughter out of 6 children. She married Patrick Morton Collins on December 17, 1981 in Las Vegas. Those who knew her well would describe her as caring, fun, strong and hardworking.

Irene’s favourite pursuits included bingo and socializing with her friends. She spent her working years as a drapery cleaner, though her true calling was raising her beloved twin sons, Mark Wayne and Patrick Dale. Though she had them later in life, they were something she had always wanted and then got two at once!

First and foremost, Irene was a mom; to her, everything else was secondary.
