Kindness, approachable, humble, caring, faith in God.....these are the things that you can find in Mr. Kung. It is always joyful to talk to him, he would slowly but surely recollecting his youthful years starting with his first apprenticeship in import export industry in Hong Kong, self study and then move into the banking career until retirement. He is still humble in saying he is not good in number.

Sometimes,  I do not understand his Shantung Cantonese, he would patiently repeating himself to me like a father and at time, he always ask about all my out of town kids.

Mr. Kung, you have great faith in God and have unload your burden to Him, these has greatly encourage us and you will be missed dearly.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of Lord for ever.

I still miss  a lot..., but I know where he has gone and I know one day I will see him again in our Father's there. Hope Mrs. Kung and his family be strong and I always love you all.

It was a shock to me and with great sadness when I got the news from my email that Mr. Kung had gone to be with the Lord. Yes, he was hospitalized for quite some time and he was in advanced age, yet, he was still joking with me the last time I visited him in the hospital. I was coaxing him to eat more and he said laughingly, "Betty, I'll treat you to a delicious Shantung noodle meal when I get out of here. I know a good restaurant! "
Mr. Kung always greeted me with a big smile. Every Sunday morning before Worship Service, he would sit in the church library browsing through books. When he found some inspiring verses, he would copy them in his note book. We chatted quite often about books, about life, about the world, about anything ...... More than once, we talked about overcoming mortality. Even in his hospital bed, he said while gesturing with his hands upward, "I don't have to think of anything. I just put everything in His hand and let it be." Such great faith!
Mr. Kung, for all the years I have known you, your kindness and your words of encouragement on my service as a church librarian made me miss you more. But I thank the good Lord for sparing you the long suffering and let you pass on in peace.
We'll talk about that Shantung noodle meal treat when we meet again, okay?

It is always very hard to accept the fact that someone you care a lot has died. I lost my father to cancer about 20 years ago. I still miss him everyday.
Mr Kung was like a father to me. I enjoyed time I spent with him over lunch on Sundays after church. I enjoyed serving him food like I used to do with my late father. We had a very special bond between us that cannot be expressed with words. 
The night before we were to leave for our holidays, I told Barbara that we had an important thing to do which was to visit Mr. Kung in the hospital. At this point I had not even started to pack yet. I had a funny feeling that this could be the last time I would see him.  He was sleeping when we arrived and I quietly woke him to tell him that Barbara and I were going on holidays the following day. He asked how long we were going for. We told him that we would be gone a total of 7 weeks. He said that it was too long. He also said that he would take us out for Shandong( ) tea when we come back. So we encouraged him to keep on praying for his health and be happy. We took some pictures and prayed together before we left.
Praise the Lord that Mr. Kung was taken in his sleep. He died peacefully.
It is sad that he is no longer with us now. But the memories we had with him will always hold dear in our hearts. We now take comfort in knowing that we will see him one day in heaven.

Today June 18 is our 21st Wedding Anniversary.
I like to thank God that I have such a wonderful father in law that always encourage me and give me a lot of good advice.
As I got layoff from my job last year in October, he kept encourage me that God will provide me even a better job and he said he has kept praying for me every day.
But at my age of 55, it is so hard to find another job, don't mention a better one, but God answered our prayer and I am able to find an even better job in January 2015.
In the last few months, he keep asking me how is my new job and I share a lot of God's blessing in this new job with him.
Now I know he has finished his race on earth and rest peacefully in heaven.
I missed him a lot, but for one day we will meet again in heaven and start sharing again forever.
