Helen Ruth Cran

Ruth was born on March 21, 1924 to Alice and Bev Lockhart in Vulcan, Alberta on March 21, 1924 joining her older brother Norm and sister Jean. She graduated from Mt. Royal College in 1943 and worked as a telephone operator and secretary. She met the love of her life, Tom Cran in 1946 and they were married on January 24, 1947 and spent the next 46 years as loving partners enjoying life and their family.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Leslie and Murray Laing with children Rod (Chelsey); Wendy (Kurt Jones, Mackenzie, Wyatt); Kelly (Nathan), Kirt (Meagan). Barb & Dan Vander Hey with children Josh (Melissa); Brittany, Ashley and Brooke.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Falk and the staff at The Salvation Army Agape Hospice for their tender care and love for Mom. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Salvation Army Agape Hospice, 1302 – 8th Avenue NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1B8.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at Richmond Hill Baptist Church, 7251 Sierra Morena Blvd. SW, Calgary.
