Heinz Lauper

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Yvonne; his sons, Alexander and Eric; his mother, Verena; brothers and sisters, Max, Walter, Rita (Rene), Sylvia and Anita as well as his extended family in Switzerland and brother-in-law, Thomas (Carmen) Dechert and many, many friends, neighbors and colleagues who hold dear the privilege and pleasure of having known him. Heinz was an absolutely lovely and good human being. He loved his family above everything and was a totally selfless husband and father. He had no pretense, was genuinely happy to accept everyone he came in contact with just as they were and had a kind word for all. Heinz was an exemplary employee and craftsman and took great pride in his work. In his free time he made no great demands and loved nothing more than to putter in the house and spend time in the garden with his beloved birds and the sun on his back. He also loved to travel with his family and we have the great gift of countless memories gathered over the years of our trips abroad. Many thanks to the valiant efforts and compassionate care of Foothills Hospital staff in ICU and unit 112, and the touching and tender love shown to Heinz at Rosedale Hospice.

A private memorial service will be held. Memorial donations in Heinz’s name may be made directly to Rosedale Hospice, 920 7A Street N.W., Calgary T2M 3J3. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
