The family sadly announces the passing of Heather at AgeCare Seton on June 27, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Heather will be lovingly remembered by Eric, her husband of 60 years; four children Audrey (Mark), Shelley (Phil), Lee (Nicola), Glen (Candace); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Rod (Marcia) of Prince Albert, SK; and sister-in-law Mildred Deibert of Saskatoon, SK.
Family meant everything to her. She was a tremendous wife, mother, and a loving grandmother. Heather was a genuine, caring, excellent listener and a trusted friend to many.
Born in Saskatoon, SK, she moved with family to Calgary, Vancouver and back to Calgary. She would often recall 1988 as one of her best years when she realized a life-long dream of owning her own horse. This brought a move to an acreage in 1990 where she immediately took riding lessons, a skill she quickly mastered. She often chuckled that at the age of 52 she was busy riding Misty while her lady friends were busy with their crafts. Her motto to the very end were two words “forgive and forget” which explains the 60 years of a happy marriage.
A special thank you to the staff at AgeCare, Mahogany West and Brighton East, for the kindness and compassion shown to both Heather and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Heather’s memory directly to a charity of choice.
