Graham is survived by his wife Carol Price; sons, Cairns, Misha and Feodor; daughters-in-law, Hyunhee, Monica and Christine; and grandchildren, Rhys, Hadyn, Ami, Bradley, Illyana, Evelyn and Adalyn.
He is predeceased by his brother Richard in 2017, sister Sydney in 1970, and his parents James Edwin (Ned) in 2000 and Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) Price in 1999.
Graham was born on April 13, 1947 in Edmonton. He grew up in Calgary and as a boy enjoyed playing hockey, golfing and travelling. He attended Alexander Ferguson Elementary, Sunalta Jr. High and Central High School. Graham graduated from the University of Alberta where he played football. He attended the University of British Columbia for law school and was a member of the rugby team.
Graham began his professional career as a lawyer articling in Yellowknife, NWT, where he met Carol and they married on July 21, 1972. Over the next four decades they worked together professionally and raised their three boys in Calgary.
Graham worked in private practice as a litigator and arbitrator and was the founding and long-standing President of the Legal Archives Society of Alberta. He received his Queen’s (now King’s) Counsel on December 31, 1999. Graham was Deputy Territorial Court Judge for the Northwest Territories from 1986-1992. He was a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary law school and medical school. Graham completed a master’s degree in law at the University of Manitoba where his research thesis focused on the justice system in the Canadian North.
Tragically, dementia has claimed his life. The family is grateful for the quality healthcare and compassionate support Graham has received throughout this challenging time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Scarboro Community Association, 1727 14th Ave SW, on Thursday January 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
