Gladys Ethel Mills

October 29, 1917 – March 29, 2011

Gladys Ethel Mills passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the age of 93 years. Gladys was born in Calgary in 1917 and spent her early years in Big Valley and Morrin, Alberta. She left Morrin for employment in Calgary and was employed for a short period by the Canadian Bible Society and later spent many years, until her retirement, as an accountant at Alberta Brake and Clutch. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 2001, her parents, Berkeley and Ida Davidson of Morrin, Alberta and her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Maude Davidson. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Herron and brother-in-law John Mills. She is also survived by two nephews and a niece, Berkeley (Alison) Davidson, Beryl (Sid) Halvorsen, Brian (Therese) Davidson, and their families. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the Bow Valley Lodge for the many years of splendid care she received and her very special care giver Alice; they would also like to thank her Bible study group who came faithfully every Wednesday to share the word of God with her.
