George Olton

George Alexander Olton, beloved husband of Caroline, passed away peacefully at the Sarcee Care-West Facility on September 4, 2013 at the age of 76 years. George is survived by his loving wife and best friend Caroline, daughter Linda (Duncan) Ripley, son Kevin (Robyn) and cherished grand children Stephanie and Craig Ripley. He is also survived by sisters, Muriel (Chester), June (Stan), Carol and several nieces and nephews.

George was born on July 16, 1937 in Saint John, New Brunswick. He met the love of his life in 1956 and married on July 16, 1959. In 1969, he moved his young family to Calgary where he had a successful career in sales and officially retired at the age of 69.

He will be forever remembered for his devotion to his family, sense of humor, generosity and the pride he had in his home and garden.

A special thanks to all the staff of C-3 Sarcee Care West for all their compassion and care they provided G.A. in his final days.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation being held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South, Calgary on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 703 Heritage Drive SW, Calgary on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at noon. Interment to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery where George will be laid to rest.
