I met Jean through the Eau Claire Community Association where we quickly became friends and confidantes. Her zest for life, laughter and honesty was infectious!  I admired Jean in so many ways - she loved my husband and children and has made a deep mark into my heart. I miss our long lunches and long telephone calls. Rest in Peace, Jean and watch over you know who!!

I am so sorry to hear about Jean - we grew up on the same street in Montreal and have been friends for years.   She had a great sense of humour and kept us all amused with her stories. As a young girl the antics she got up to are still laughed about with our family.   I shall miss her emails greatly - now she is with her Mum and Dad and cousin Anne and safe.

It is with great sadness to hear of my dear friend Jean's (Beans) passing. We have been close friends since we were 15 and through all those decades she has filled me with laughter with stories of her adventures, admiration for her attitude towards MS and a sense that she was always there at the other end of the phone no matter how many miles separated us. I will miss Jean deeper than I can say. My sympathy for all who have loved her.

Michael, Heather, Christine, Mark, and of course Jim, I remember you all used to speak so proudly of Jean as both an Aunt and Sister.  I've often thought of all of you from time to time over the years. Please except sincerest condolences from your "old" neighbours at Leith Hill Rd.

I am saddened to learn of Jean's death. Jean and I first met when we started working at McMaster University Medical Centre in 1972. Each in different areas but since only the outpatient areas were open when we started, all of us knew each other well. I left MUMC in 1974. It was a wonderful surprise when I happened to meet Jean again in the Foothills Hospital where I had nursing students. We have connected over her years here. She was a vivacious, fun, outgoing woman, who cared deeply about others. She was determined to make the health care system better for patients and families regardless of her role (direct care or administration). It was a privilege to know her.

Such sad news to hear of Jean's passing.  As a nursing colleague at the Foothills Hospital, I always appreciated her forthrightness, wry sense of humour, and willingness to tackle difficult situations.  She was a valued member of our nursing leadership team, and will be fondly remembered.

All of us at Jean's dental clinic were so shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Jean's passing.  I loved her personality.  She was like no other and we will miss seeing her so very much

I had the privilege of working with Jean at McMaster from 1987-1989.  I have never forgotten her great sense of humour and all of the help that she gave me as I began my academic career.  She taught me to never be afraid to share my perspective, but to make sure that I could back up what I said.  I know that she always did.  My condolences to her family.

Jean was a favourite cousin to me and my brother Jim(Sharpe)Her infectious laugh and sense of humour was in full force when the 3 of us got together. Her courage in dealing with her MS was so inspirational. She refused to let it get a hold of her. Rock on cuz...give Jim and Cheryl a big hug for us.

Jean was a wonderful person .Her  infectious sense of humour could lighten anyone's day.her ability to "cut to the chase "was better than anyone I know.

Jean was a wonderful boss who was supportive, funny and spunky.  She was never afraid to fight battles in health care or against her MS.  Rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.

We have lost a remarkable woman. She was a great colleague, mentor, and friend. Her passion for the profession of nursing influenced my own career path, and I will be forever grateful. I will always remember the courage she demonstrated when facing a chronic illness, and her ability to laugh and make others laugh while facing the obstacles that life sometimes put in front of her.

The School of Nursing at McMaster University is shocked and so very saddened at the loss of a wonderful colleague. Jean was a wonderful driving force for our undergraduate program  during the years she was with us. We all loved her voice of honesty,frankness and her devotion to student success. She will always be remembered as a strong advocate of Nursing in the Province of Ontario and beyond. When you met with Jean she always gave a profound insight into nursing but always with a wonderful sense of humour and honour!! She will be missed within the ranks of Nursing in Ontario . A wonderful advocate for us all in Nursing. It was just such a privilege to have her in our lives.
