Dora McKinnon

Dora McKinnon passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Dora is sadly missed by Paulette (Jim), Rodger, Gloria (Rick), Chuck (Debbie), Rob and numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Earl in 1996. Dora worked for the postal office for sixteen years and after her retirement she went to Heritage Park part-time. She enjoyed her work at Heritage Park where she contributed her handmade hooked rugs, which are on display at various homes in the park. When she wasn’t at Heritage Park, you would find her in her kitchen baking pies, where everyone was welcome to enjoy her baking. No one ever left Dora’s place hungry. A gathering will be held in the Arbour Lounge at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 1605 – 100 Street S.E. (17 Avenue S.E. at Garden Road) Calgary on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Heritage Park, 1900 Heritage Drive S.W., Calgary, AB T2V 2X3.
