David passed away at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the age of 54 years. David was born in Neepawa, Manitoba but as a young boy moved to Brantford, Ontario. In his later teenage years, with his friend Neil Parker, they moved to Calgary for better opportunity. Upon arrival, David worked for several companies. In 1981, he began work with the City of Calgary, Queen’s Park Cemetery. David will be sadly missed by his loving children Mollie and Jake; sister Beverly Riley of Brantford, Ontario; brother Blair Bryant and wife Mary of Oshawa, Ontario; sister-in-law Michelle Riley of Brantford, Ontario; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews Michael, Meredith, Jason and Chris. He will also be missed by his very dear friend Debbie Parker and her family as well as numerous friends and co-workers at Queen’s Park Cemetery. David is predeceased by his parents Bill and Grace Riley; brothers Keith and Robert John Riley; and his good friend Neil Parker.
